Wharf Communications Limited
The Group has taken from start-up to fully established operations of i-CABLE Communications Limited and Wharf T&T Limited. i-CABLE now runs Hong Kong's leading Pay TV (licensed in 1993) and cable modem Broadband services (licensed in 2000) while Wharf T&T is one of Hong Kong's fastest growing fixed telecommunications network operators (licensed in 1995).
i-CABLE
i-CABLE, 73.3%-owned by the Group, is listed on both The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK: 1097) and NASDAQ (NASDAQ: ICAB) in the United States. It is Hong Kong's leading integrated communications company that owns and operates one of two near universal telecommunications networks in the territory, offers Pay TV and Broadband Internet access service; and creates its own multimedia contents.
Pay TV
i-CABLE operates Hong Kong's leading Pay TV service and offers more than 90 locally-produced and international channels, providing a wide array of news, sports, movies, documentaries and entertainment programmes. It currently produces over 10,000 hours of programming a year, which is one of the largest television programme producers in the territory. Throughout the years, the company has successfully established a leading position in news, movies and sports television programming.
Broadband and Internet Service
One of Hong Kong's two clear leaders of Broadband service provision, i-CABLE's Broadband Internet service is already available to more than 1.98 million homes via its Internet Protocol overlay network. The company has also developed portals on news, movies, horse racing and stocks etc, leveraging on its Pay TV content.
Wharf T&T Limited
Wharf T&T, licensed in 1995, is one of the fastest growing fixed-line operators with significant investment in its own telecommunications network infrastructure in Hong Kong. Since its debut when the Hong Kong fixed telecommunications market was liberalised, Wharf T&T has continually sought to upgrade its services and deliver competitive products at competitive prices to local businesses and consumers.
